Ben Lacomis, CSLP®

Ben isn’t your typical financial planner—definitely not your father’s financial planner. As a highly educated, high-income (and potentially high-debt) millennial, you need a planner who can handle complexity and bring personality. That’s Ben. He often jokes that he can relate to anyone with the heart of a child, the brain of an adult, and the body of a retiree (after a few shoulder surgeries, extra appreciation to orthopedic physicians!).
As the black sheep in a white-coat family and a former patient who’s benefited from top-notch medical care, Ben sees working with physicians and medical professionals as his way of giving back.

A proud Pittsburgh native, Ben studied finance, marketing, and economics at the University of Pittsburgh (H2P!) and has spent the last decade building an accomplished financial services career. He has dedicated eight years to comprehensive financial planning, seven as a Certified Student Loan Professional (CSLP®), and the last three as part of his SLP Wealth dream team. While everyone at SLPW is a student loan nerd, Ben also brings deep expertise in behavioral financial topics, insurance, investments, and advanced planning strategies.

Outside of work, Ben balances boomer and millennial hobbies like a skilled trapezist (though, not one of those). He’s into birding, houseplants, golf, video games, skiing, and splitting his time between Pitt basketball games and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performances. At home, he shares life with his lovely fiancée, Taylor, and his typically zoom-bombing australian shepherd and sweet golden retriever, Pippin and Piper.
