SLP Wealth (sister company to Student Loan Planner) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable full-time Paraplanner to join our growing financial planning practice. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere with a reliable computer and internet connection. The ideal candidate will have their Series 65 License (or Series 66). The role will be split between time spent executing SLP Wealth’s investment operations and assisting planners in the day-to-day management of their client book. The intent for this role is to prepare you for becoming a financial planner by playing an active part in several facets of the client experience at SLP Wealth.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in managing the financial planner’s inbox with light email support (i.e. labeling emails, setting up filters, and replying to admin-focused non-financial emails). 
  • Help with organizing our task management system, Canopy, with both planner-facing and client-facing tasks.
  • Working with clients on requests related to financial document requests, reviews, and data collection to help the planner prepare for meetings or investment calls.
  • Manage opening and closing of investment and retirement accounts.
  • Audit investment accounts and generate reports regularly to ensure the smooth operation of the investment business.
  • Facilitate the movement of funds among accounts to accomplish client goals.
  • Engage directly with clients and collaborate closely with SLP Wealth financial planners.
  • Meet with clients who need additional assistance for investment related topics.
  • Actively participate in periodic team meetings covering case studies, industry updates, and best practices in investing, tax, student loans, and financial planning.
  • Stay current on relevant investment legislation and student loan news, demonstrating an intellectual curiosity for how financial or tax strategies impact student loan borrowers who want to invest.
  • Handle necessary administrative tasks and manage the investment team's email inbox.

Qualifications & Expectations: 

  • Preferred: Series 65 or 66 License
  • Required: Demonstrated understanding of retirement accounts, making trades, and their tax implications.
  • Required: Availability Monday-Friday during standard business hours, with the possibility of required additional availability (potentially evenings/weekends) during peak tax season/times of year when clients want to open accounts.
  • Required: Access to a reliable computer and stable internet connection suitable for remote work.
  • Preferred: A desire to take on increasing responsibility within the investment and financial planning function over time.
  • Commitment: Interest in building a long-term career in financial planning is highly desired.

Our target market consists of high-income professionals, often in fields like medicine, dentistry, law, and veterinary medicine, who carry substantial student loan debt. This role is integral to helping these clients optimize their investment and retirement situation, reduce their student loan burden, build wealth, and alleviate financial stress.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in NC, SC, TX, CO, MN, CT, VA, FL, LA, GA, AZ, IL, IA, PA, MS, MN, OR, WA, TN, RI, WI, MD. As required by applicable pay transparency laws, SLP Wealth provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements.
