FAQ
Who can I contact if I can’t find my appointment or have other questions?
If you’re having trouble locating your appointment confirmation or have other questions, please get in touch with us at admin@slpwealth.com.
What documents do you need from me?
When you decide to work with SLP Wealth, we will send you a detailed questionnaire to get to know you and your goals. We will ask for more specific documents and information as needed.
What will you help me with?
Check out Our Services page. We will work on your top 3 goals so we can prioritize what really matters to you.
Do I need a financial planner? I’m not wealthy.
A sound financial plan is for everyone, not just those with high incomes and lots of assets. That’s why we made sure our fee structure was affordable.
What is a fiduciary?
We try to avoid too much industry jargon, but this is good to know! It means that at all times, we must put your needs ahead of our own. The CFP Board lists 3 duties that an advisor has to satisfy the fiduciary standard:
- A duty of loyalty: we must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- A duty of care: we must act like any reasonable advisor would when making a plan
concerning your specific goals and circumstances. - A duty to follow client instructions: we must honor the terms of the engagement we
agreed upon, as well as any directions you give us.
When you have a moment to do some light beach reading, check out the CFP Board’s Code of
Ethics and Standards that we follow.
How will you manage my investments?
Based on how soon you need the funds and your personal risk tolerance, we will create a diversified portfolio of low-cost, no transaction fee index funds*. Read our investment policy statement here.
*Some mutual funds come with a $5 transaction fee that does not go to SLP Wealth. In general, we will always avoid fees whenever possible.
Is there an asset minimum?
No! However, we charge an additional 0.49% fee for assets under management.
