Our Financial Planning Process

At SLP Wealth, we offer an efficient and tailored financial planning service that is uniquely centered around your top three financial priorities. Our goal is to make high-quality financial planning accessible to everyone, regardless of their current financial situation.

Our Process:

Read below to learn more of what working with SLP Wealth is like and see if we are a good fit to work with you.

1. Detailed Questionnaire

To kick off our engagement, we have you fill out a detailed intake questionnaire designed to gather important information about your current financial situation, goals, risk tolerance, and more. This in-depth initial assessment serves as the foundation for our subsequent discussions and allows your financial planner to get to know you, and better tailor our advice to your specific circumstances.

2. Prioritized Planning

Unlike other financial planning firms, we focus our efforts on your top three financial priorities. This unique approach allows us to deliver a highly personalized service while maintaining an accessible pricing model. It’s all about making meaningful progress towards what matters most to you. We will set these initial goals at your onboarding meeting and check in as needed to keep you on track.

3. Semi-Annual 1-hr Check-Ins

We schedule comprehensive one-hour meetings every six months. These sessions are an opportunity for us to discuss your financial progress, reassess your goals, and make necessary adjustments to your plan. We believe that regular check-ins are essential for keeping your financial plan on track and relevant to your evolving needs.

4. As-needed 30-minute meetings

In addition to our bi-annual meetings, we offer 30-minute meetings as needed. Whether you have a burning question, encounter a significant life event, or just want to touch base, we’re here to provide guidance and reassurance when you need it.

5. Actionable Steps

Our meetings aren’t just about discussion—they’re about action. We’ll provide you with clear, actionable steps you can take immediately to move closer to your financial goals. This approach ensures that our advice translates into tangible progress.

Our ongoing meeting schedule will vary based on your particular needs and current situation, but we kick things off by getting to know you in an onboarding meeting. Once we have established your top goals and gotten you on the right path for your goals, we will meet for as needed 30-minute meetings, as well as your semi-annual check-in meeting. This check-in meeting is highly encouraged so we can ensure your plans and goals are still on the right track midway through the year.

  • 1-hour onboarding meeting: At this appointment you will meet your financial planner, review your goals & financial details from your intake form, and get you set you up in our client portal.
  • 1-hour planning meeting: We review your plan recommendations and next steps
  • 1-hour semi-annual check-in meetings: A check-in on goal progress, to answer questions, and we will revise goals if needed
  • Unlimited 30-minute focus meetings – These meetings are designed to hone in on a specific topic (student loans, debt, investments, etc.) or for us to check in overall.
